About Karen Harmon, Counselor in NC and Northeast Florida

I see you. You have been trying to figure out why these symptoms will not go away. You have Googled them countless times, self-diagnosed, taken a variety of nutritional supplements, read all the books, prayed, and still cannot stop the anxiety, and the panic attacks keep coming.

I’m here to help.

My name is Karen Harmon. I became a therapist because I knew there was a way to help people struggling with their symptoms and wanting to understand how their faith interacted with those symptoms. I want to help you find the answers that lead you towards health and restore your relationship with your mind, body and spirit.

A bit about me.

I have a Master’s Degree in Christian Marriage, Family and Individual Counseling, and specialized training and experience in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, family estrangement and marriage counseling.

I help people just like you - whether you are a teenager or moving through adulthood - break the cycle of fear, panic, anxiety and disruption to bring beauty back to your life.

I’m not a sit and listen type of therapist. I like to hear your story and pull out all the pieces and work with you to find the solution. I will give you strategies to control your symptoms. I am passionate about helping people. I am results oriented. If you do not see growth or change I might not be the therapist for you and that’s ok. I will work with you to find a therapist that can lead you to the change you seek.

The official stats about me:

I graduated from Southeastern Theological Baptist Seminary and I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both Florida and North Carolina (FL #MT4881, NC LMFT #10311). I am trained in EMDR and an EMDRIA approved therapist. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Specialist using CBT and a SYMBIS facilitator. I have additional trainings in Sand Tray and Play Therapy. Let’s just say that I love to learn and I enjoy what I do!
